Stagecoach has unveiled a new fleet of 22 Yutong U11DD electric double decker buses during a community event in Guildford.
Entering service across Blackwater Valley and Surrey in the coming months, the vehicles form part of a wider decarbonisation programme delivered in partnership with Surrey County Council through the Surrey Greener Futures scheme.

Supplied by Yutong; the U11DDs have been designed to offer zero tailpipe emissions, and feature capacity for up to 73 passengers, two wheelchair spaces, low-floor access, USB and USB-C charging at each seat, and enhanced onboard information systems.
The vehicles were chosen following a full tender process, which placed an emphasis on whole-life value, reliability, passenger comfort, and compliance with UK regulatory requirements.
The buses will operate primarily on Service 1 (Aldershot to Camberley and Old Dean, via Farnborough and Frimley) and Service 20 (Aldershot–Guildford), and mark a major milestone in Stagecoach’s wider milestone of operating a fully, zero-emission fleet by 2035.
Marc Reddy, Managing Director of Stagecoach South, said:These new electric buses represent a major step forward in delivering cleaner, quieter and more comfortable journeys for customers across Blackwater Valley and Surrey.
They bring significant environmental benefits while also improving accessibility, comfort and overall customer experience. It was also a pleasure to welcome young bus enthusiast Dylan to the depot and share his enthusiasm for buses with our team.
