The Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation has placed an order with New Flyer for 121 hybrid-electric buses to expand and modernise its Bee-Line transit fleet.
The order comprises 116 40-foot Xcelsior hybrid-electric buses and five 35-foot models. Sixteen of the 40-foot vehicles will be configured for express services, featuring a single entrance door and overhead luggage racks.
The latest procurement continues Westchester County’s use of hybrid-electric buses supplied by New Flyer, supporting the Bee-Line system’s ongoing fleet renewal programme.

These new hybrid-electric buses will provide a more reliable, comfortable and sustainable ride while helping us reduce emissions and modernise one of the region’s busiest transit systems.
The Bee-Line bus network operates throughout Westchester County, New York, providing services across urban and suburban routes and carrying millions of passengers each year.
The order adds to New Flyer’s presence in the North American hybrid-electric bus market, where it supplies vehicles to public transport operators across the United States and Canada.
