The Urbino 40 electric has been designed to meet the operational requirements of transit agencies in the US and Canada. The launch represents the introduction of Solaris’ battery-electric bus technology to the North American market.

Solaris has established a presence in the European zero-emission bus sector, supplying battery-electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles to operators across multiple countries. The new model is intended to build on that experience while addressing the technical and regulatory requirements of North American operators.

The unveiling is scheduled for 3:00pm Central Time on 5 October as part of the APTA TRANSform & EXPO exhibition, which brings together public transport agencies, manufacturers and suppliers from across the industry.

Further technical specifications and operational details of the Solaris Urbino 40 electric are expected to be announced during the launch event.
