Yutong has completed the delivery of 214 battery-electric buses to Chile, marking the fulfilment of its largest export order to the country to date.

At the start of 2024, a ship carrying all 214 vehicles travelled from China to Chile, which is the furthest country from China.

The buses will be put into operation in Santiago from the end of this month on long-distance commuter routes between the city’s main urban area and the surrounding towns.

To meet the demands of cross-regional and high-frequency travel, the buses are based on Yutong’s YEA platform, which provides enhanced energy efficiency, driving range and reliability.

This order builds on Yutong’s ongoing success in delivering electric buses to Chile. In 2005, it became the first new energy bus brand to enter the market, and in 2008, it supplied 100 Yutong electric buses to the nation.
