BasiGo Rwanda has expanded its electric bus fleet to 52 vehicles following the arrival of 18 new i8 intercity coaches.
The new coaches are fitted with a 350-kilometre range battery supplied by CATL and will operate on long-distance routes linking Kigali with Musanze, Rubavu, Huye, Rusizi, Nyagatare and other destinations across Rwanda.

The vehicles are intended to support the electrification of intercity transport in Rwanda and to increase the use of electric mobility on longer-distance routes.
During operational testing, an intercity i8 coach has completed a round trip between Kigali and Rusizi, the country’s furthest district.
BasiGo Rwanda said the latest additions form part of its wider effort to expand electric public transport infrastructure in the country and increase the number of zero-emission buses in daily service.
