FlixBus has expanded its network in Western Canada, having launched new and revised Prairie routes on 7 May across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The intercity coach operator has improved travel links between Calgary, Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg, while also serving smaller communities including Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon and Brandon.

Under the revised network, passengers can travel across three connected routes with transfer options in Regina. The routes include the existing Edmonton–Saskatoon–Regina service, an expanded Calgary–Lethbridge–Medicine Hat–Swift Current–Moose Jaw–Regina corridor, and a new Regina–Brandon–Winnipeg line.
The company has also added several new stops to its Prairie network. New locations include Winnipeg at 35 Vermillion Road, Brandon at 059 Middleton Avenue, Swift Current at 1 Springs Drive and Moose Jaw at 1235 Main Street North.
Existing stops in Medicine Hat and Lethbridge will remain in operation as part of the enlarged Calgary–Regina service, creating additional links into Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The launch of services into Winnipeg marks FlixBus’ entry into another major Canadian market. Through connections in Regina, travellers from Manitoba will be able to access destinations across Saskatchewan and Alberta without changing transport providers.
Regina is expected to become a central interchange within the network, linking eastbound and westbound routes across the Prairie provinces.
Karina Frayter, Head of Communications at Flix North America, said:The addition of these new routes is another step in delivering our vision of linking communities from east to west through affordable and dependable transportation. This launch reflects the growing demand we’re seeing for intercity bus travel as Canadians look for practical alternatives to rising travel costs and more flexibility in how they travel. Expanding our service across the Prairies gives more people access to convenient and budget-friendly travel options, making it easier than ever to visit family and friends, get to work or school, or take a vacation without the need to fly or drive.
The expanded services form part of Flixbus’ wider plans to increase connectivity between Canadian regions through a larger national coach network.
