CitySightseeing has announced the launch of a new free mobile application that aims to make travelling on the company’s York service more accessible.
Now available to all, the app allows users to purchase and store digital tickets, gain access to discounts and discover the city’s most famous attractions.

The app also offers the ability to track buses in real-time, enabling customers to see exactly when a CitySightseeing tour bus will arrive at a specific destination with live departure times.
CitySightseeing York’s Tourism Manager, Victoria Giannini, said:We have a fantastic team who serve as true ambassadors for York and everything it offers to both visitors and residents. Every day, people approach them on the streets for trusted advice on where to go, where to eat and how best to spend their time in the city.
We wanted to find a way to share this expertise with an even wider audience, which is why we’ve brought it together in a new app, which we’ve partnered with Great Scenic Journeys to bring our vision to life.
Developed by Great Scenic Journeys, the app is the culmination of several months of collaboration and aims to provide better accessibility for those seeking to take advantage of the service.
Andrew Penn, Chief Technology Officer at Great Scenic Journeys, said:It’s been so fabulous to work on this project in such an iconic, captivating and historical city such as York, where Great Scenic Journeys already has a deep knowledge and presence, working to promote the city and beautiful surrounding area.
CitySightseeing York plunges thrill-seekers right in the pulsating heart of the history and modern-day life of York, providing the ultimate hop-on, hop-off tour to be savoured, making memories for all who get on board.
