EAF Group has strengthened its vehicle maintenance facilities with the installation of a Totalkare in-ground brake tester, providing the business with a dedicated solution for carrying out accurate and efficient brake testing in-house.

The new brake tester has been specified with an 18,000kg axle load capacity, giving EAF Group a heavy-duty solution capable of supporting the demands of its commercial vehicle operations. Totalkare’s in-ground brake testing range is DVSA-approved and designed for integration directly into commercial vehicle workshops.

As part of the project, Totalkare also managed the necessary groundworks for the installation, providing EAF Group with a complete solution from initial preparation through to the finished brake testing facility. Totalkare can undertake the civil works required for its in-ground brake tester installations, helping customers manage the project through a single supplier.

The installation has also been finished with yellow safety handrails positioned on either side of the brake tester, providing additional protection around the testing area while creating a clearly defined working zone within the workshop. With brake testing now available on-site, the investment gives EAF Group greater control over its vehicle maintenance programme and helps its team identify potential braking issues efficiently without relying as heavily on external testing facilities.

James Bird at EAF Group, said:

The new brake tester is a really positive addition to our facilities. Having the capability available on-site gives us greater flexibility around when we carry out testing and helps us manage vehicle maintenance more efficiently. We’re really pleased with the finished installation and the support Totalkare provided throughout the project.

Jay Chauhan, National Sales Manager at Totalkare, said:

We’re delighted to have worked with EAF Group on this project. The 18,000kg in-ground brake tester provides them with a robust solution for their commercial vehicle requirements, while completing the associated groundworks meant we could support the project from the initial site preparation through to installation. It’s a great example of how Totalkare can provide customers with a complete brake testing solution rather than simply supplying the equipment.

The completed installation provides EAF Group with a dedicated, heavy-duty brake testing facility designed to support safer vehicles, improved workshop efficiency and greater control over ongoing fleet maintenance.
