EKA electric vehicle manufacturer has partnered with NuPort Robotics to incorporate Level 2 autonomy within its electric buses in India.
This is the first initiative in the country to use level 2 autonomy and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance electric buses on Indian roads. Throughout the partnership, EKA will test a range of NuPort’s autonomous features to improve safety, reduce the environmental footprint, and increase operational efficiency for its electric bus models. The technology will then be deployed in over 5000 buses in India.

NuPort Robotics aims to fully develop and deploy its technology in India to provide commercial vehicle manufacturers with AI-enabled autonomous solutions that are specifically designed for Indian roads and the complexity of Indian traffic.
Alongside NuPort’s autonomous solutions, EKA will provide the electric vehicle platform to work towards the commercialisation of AI-enabled electric buses in India.
