Karsan has announced the delivery of a set of two e-ATA Hydrogen buses to the city of Terni, Italy.
Developed using Toyota fuel cell technology, the 12-metre vehicles were delivered during a handover ceremony at Piazza Europa, which saw attendance from a number of local authorities, project partners, and invited guests.

The use of hydrogen buses in Terni forms part of the Umbria Region and the Italian Ministry of the Environment’s air quality improvement programme, with Abruzzo Region acting as the main partner and the University of Perugia providing academic support.
Karsan CEO Okan Baş said:As Karsan, we are now extending the experience we’ve gained in electric and autonomous mobility to hydrogen technology. As a key partner in the transition to zero-emission mobility, we believe hydrogen technology offers a significant alternative, particularly for public transit routes requiring long ranges and intensive operations.
These new-generation vehicles powered by clean energy contribute to cities’ sustainable transportation goals and the vision of more liveable urban environments. We believe the e-ATA Hydrogen vehicles we delivered to Terni will also add value to the sustainable public transportation transformation in Europe.
