All buses supplied will be powered by energy from hydrogen fuel cells, which is transferred to the electric drivetrain. The 12-metre vehicles will be equipped with a central motor with an output of 160 kW, whilst the articulated buses will feature a 240 kW motor.

The vehicles will be fitted with camera systems replacing traditional mirrors, as well as systems enhancing driver safety and passenger comfort. Onboard solutions will include ramps, as well as dedicated spaces for wheelchairs.

Solaris and SWK Mobil Krefeld have been working together since 2011, and in 2023 the operator purchased 10 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses from the manufacturer, which were delivered in 2025 and joined the city’s zero-emission fleet.

Alongside the vehicles; Solaris will also provide its eSConnect system, which provides full access to data needed to assess vehicle performance and plan further fleet operations.
