Otokar has been contracted to supply 29 electric e-Centro microbuses for public transport services across Italy.

The 6.6-metre microbuses buses will be used in Rome, Syracuse, Salerno, Reggio Calabria, Cagliari and Palermo to provide clearer and quieter public transportation.

Initially, the model will begin service in Rome at the start of 2024, before being delivered to bus operators in Syracuse, Salerno, Reggio Calabria, Cagliari and Palermo in the second half of the year.

Otokar’s e-Centro model has been designed to offer a sustainable and accessible transport solution for historical districts and touristic areas of cities with narrow streets and zero-emission zones.

The vehicle is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 200kW. It features a 110 kW Li-ion NMC battery which provides a range of 200 kilometres and can be fully charged in just 1.5 hours.
