Swedish transport operator VR Sverige has placed a new order for 101 electric buses from Solaris.
The order will consist of 5 Urbino 9 LE electric buses, 47 Urbino 12 electric buses with modular drives, 22 Urbino 15 LE electric buses and 27 Urbino 18 electric buses with modular drives.
All new vehicles will enter operation in Stockholm, and are hoped to enhance travel comfort for both passengers and residents of the Swedish capital. They will be equipped with an electric drive and a Solaris High Energy battery pack with capacity tailored to the model and route characteristics, allowing for all-day operations without the need for recharging.
Each bus will be air‑conditioned, equipped with a passenger information system and various assistance solutions that aim to increase safety and driver comfort.

Solaris is currently carrying out another order for VR Sverige, supplying 81 Urbino 15 LE electric buses as part of a contract signed in 2025.
