Solaris has signed a new contract to supply the public transport operator of Olomouc with a set of 20 electric buses.

The order comprises 10 Urbino 12 electric buses and 10 articulated Urbino 18 electric buses, as well as an option to extend the order by a further 20 vehicles – 15 twelve-metre battery-electric buses and 5 articulated vehicles.

Solaris will supply 20 electric buses for operation in Olomouc

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028, with each bus set to be based on Solaris’s modular drive architecture, which eliminates the traditional engine tower in an effort to increase passenger space and facilitate servicing.

All vehicles will comply with GSR2 requirements and will be equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, including solutions for blind spot monitoring, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and driver fatigue monitoring.

Solaris has worked with Czech operator Dopravní podnik města Olomouce for a number of years, and has thus far delivered 96 buses to Olomouc, with these new vehicles set to be the first Solaris electric buses to enter the operator’s fleet.
