New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has selected The Mobility House to deploy its smart charging and energy management product, ChargePilot, for New York City Transit (NYCT) buses.

During a 12-month pilot, The Mobility House will manage charging for 27 charge ports across two depots in Staten Island and Queens.

The Mobility House deploys its smart charging and energy management product for New York City Transit

By co-ordinating local utility rates and bus schedules, ChargePilot will optimise charging to maximise vehicle uptime and reduce electricity costs. This will aid the MTA’s ongoing transition to electric vehicles and reduce operating expenses by more than 35,000 USD per month at each depot.

The Mobility House US Managing Director Gregor Hintler said:

We are thrilled to partner with the MTA as they embark on a journey toward zero-emission. As the largest public fleet operator in the country, ensuring reliable operations is essential to the success of their electrification goals, especially when some buses require two to four charging sessions a day. We are proud that The Mobility House's technology and electrification expertise will contribute to that critical mission.

This partnership with NYCT builds upon The Mobility House’s participation in the Transit Tech Lab programme.
