Dutch public transport operator, Abellio, has officially debuted its brand-new line of single-deck electric buses, the e.City Gold, in London.

The new fleet has begun operating on Route 433, which Abellio operates on behalf of Transport for London (TfL) from its Beddington depot situated near Croydon. This route offers services between Addington Village interchange and East Croydon.

The rollout of the new electric buses continues Abellio’s commitment to EV expansion in the capital
Alastair Willis, Head of Commercial, Abellio London, said:

Abellio is at the forefront of providing customers with cleaner, zero-emission journeys.

We are absolutely delighted to bring another fully EV route to London as the 433 rolls out with these innovative new Caetano buses.

The e.City Gold is a fully electric, zero-emission, low-body bus that incorporates a number of comfort and accessibility features. Priority seats are highlighted for those in need, and dedicated signage denotes wheelchair areas.

Digital signage onboard shares real-time information including the time remaining before the next stop, disruption information, available spaces on the next available bus and service updates for Tube, Overground and DLR services.
