VDL Group has launched a right-hand-drive (RHD) version of its flagship Futura 3 coach at Euro Bus Expo 2026 in Birmingham.
The initial left hand drive vehicle was launched at Busworld 2025 in Brussels, and this new variant is set to enter service within the UK in the near future.

Measuring 12.9 metres in length; VDL’s Futura 3 is equipped with 57 seats, RGB ambient lighting, integrated USB charging points, wheelchair accessibility, a camera monitor system replacing conventional mirrors, and the latest generation of ADAS safety technologies, including Blind Spot Information, Intelligent Speed Assistance and Driver Drowsiness Warning.
The coach has been specifically developed to offer an ergonomically optimised cockpit, improved seating position and controls specifically designed to reduce fatigue during long journeys, whilst passengers are offered improved seating, premium interior finishes, advanced ambient lighting and a refined climate control system.
Elsewhere, VDL’s Futura 3 is equipped with full ADAS assistance systems, improved visibility and structural enhancements that aim to help meet the most stringent European safety standards, and it has been specially engineered to reduce both repair and maintenance costs throughout its lifetime through its use of modular components and improved accessibility of technical systems.
