Next week, they are scheduled to embark on their journey to Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, marking the first entry of Chinese buses to enter the country.

After their arrival, they will be immediately put into operation, providing more convenient transportation services for local residents.

Since securing the order from Vietnamese customer in January this year, Golden Dragon has been working against the clock, making sure the timely delivery of its buses to overseas customers. As a neighbor to the south of China, Vietnam has been working closely with China to jointly build the Belt and the Road. The official entry of Golden Dragon city buses to the country represents a new milestone for the bus maker and is also the result of its relentless hard work in the past eight years.

Vietnam has different requirements on the width and total weight of buses and weight limit of their rear axles. For this reason, Chinese buses were rarely seen in the country. Eight years ago, Golden Dragon started exploring the market, aiming to gain a full knowledge of the local bus operators’ special needs and requirements. Currently, its KD project in Vietnam has completed 90% construction. After completion, it is able to work more closely with local partner and further strengthen its presence in the country.

Every country has its own regulations and special working conditions. In response, Golden Dragon has always been committed to developing customized bus & coach products for its customers both at home and abroad.

Huang Ji, Deputy General Manager of Golden Dragon Overseas Sales Co., Ltd, said:

We resumed our production earlier after the spring festival this year and our workers worked on three shifts so that we could have all buses assembled by the end of this month.

According to Golden Dragon, it is now racing against time to complete the assembly of nearly 200 units buses ordered by a bus operator in Saudi Arabia.

In 2023, Golden Dragon made impressive achievements in the overseas market. For the whole year, its total export volume of buses & coaches reached 6,946 units, up by 31% year on year and its market share in the overseas market stood at 16%, ranking the second place among all Chinese bus brands. More specifically, its export of whole buses & coaches took half of its total export volume and the rest half was made up by the export of KD buses & coaches.

So far, Golden Dragon has launched its KD projects in over 10 countries, including Thailand, Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Vietnam. With the production of its KD factories in these countries, the bus maker has not only helped to create more job opportunities for locals, but also significantly strengthened its overall competitiveness in the overseas market. In 2024, its export of KD buses & coaches is expected to exceed the export of whole buses & coaches.
