Karsan’s launch in Japan follows the manufacturer’s success in Europe, as well as its recent launch into North America.

The e-JEST 6-metre electric minibus was initially introduced in Europe in late 2018. It has also since been launched in Canada and the US as the market’s first electric minibus.

Karsan CEO Okan Baş said:

As a Turkish brand, we take great pride in operating in a nation that is widely associated with automobiles. Our entry into the Japanese market complements our successes in Europe and the ongoing expansion of our vehicle fleet in North America. At Karsan, we are committed to transforming public transport globally, staying One Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility.

With its latest debut in Japan, Karsan is the first European electric bus brand to enter the Japanese market. The company now aims to sell 100 units in Japan within the next year.
