MAN Truck & Bus made its debut at Busworld Southeast Asia 2026 in Jakarta, presenting its MAN Lion’s Chassis CO (RR4) alongside a double-decker bus developed for the Indonesian market.
The trade fair, held from 20 to 22 May, marked the company’s first appearance at the regional event in partnership with local sales partner Inframach. MAN said the presentation forms part of its strategy to expand its bus business outside Europe through a chassis-body model tailored to international markets.

In international markets, MAN focuses primarily on supplying chassis rather than complete buses. Local bodybuilders then adapt the vehicles to regional operational requirements and customer preferences.
Indonesia is regarded as one of Southeast Asia’s larger bus markets, driven by investment in transport infrastructure, increasing passenger mobility and continued tourism growth. Demand for buses with improved safety, efficiency and passenger comfort is also increasing across the region.
MAN’s appearance at Busworld Southeast Asia represents a step towards strengthening its presence in Indonesia and the wider ASEAN market. The company plans to continue developing its local bus business with Inframach, which has already worked with MAN in the truck sector for several years.
Robert Katzer, Head of Sales & Product Bus at MAN Truck & Bus said:Our debut at Busworld Southeast Asia is an important step for us in sustainably strengthening our bus business in the region. With our proven range of chassis and strong local partners, we are ideally positioned to meet the growing demand for high-quality bus solutions in Indonesia.
The centrepiece of the display was the three-axle MAN Lion’s Chassis CO (RR4), designed to support a range of body configurations for applications including long-distance travel, tourism and premium passenger services.
Also on display was a double-decker coach built on the RR4 chassis by Indonesian bodybuilder New Armada. MAN said the project demonstrates how international chassis engineering can be combined with local manufacturing expertise to create market-ready vehicle solutions.

Double-decker buses have become increasingly common on long-distance routes in Indonesia, particularly in the tourism and intercity transport sectors.
