NFI Group has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining its environmental, social and governance activities and reporting on its operational performance during the year.
The Winnipeg-based bus and coach manufacturer delivered 1,326 zero-emission buses and coaches (ZEBs) in 2025. These vehicles accounted for almost 30% of its total deliveries for the year.
NFI’s cumulative zero-emission deliveries have now reached 5,965 vehicles since 2015, according to the report.

The company manufactures buses and motorcoaches and provides aftermarket parts and services. Its sustainability report covers activities across its global operations and the contributions of more than 9,300 employees.
NFI reported that it invested approximately 11.9 million USD in employee training and development during 2025, including an estimated value assigned to employee time spent on training.
Employees completed more than 279,000 hours of training during the year. The programmes covered areas including workforce development, leadership, employee engagement, workplace safety and operational readiness.
The investment was intended to support the skills and capabilities required for manufacturing, product quality and customer service.
Furthermore, as part of its community activities, NFI and its employees raised more than 533,000 USD for United Way agencies and other community partners across North America during 2025.
The report also covers the company’s environmental performance, governance framework, enterprise risk management and sustainability priorities.
NFI said collaboration with transit agencies, operators, suppliers, technology providers and other partners continued to support the development and deployment of zero-emission transport technologies.
The company organises its sustainability approach around three areas: A Better Product, A Better Workplace and A Better World.

The 2025 report was prepared with input from representatives across NFI’s business. It includes information on governance, workforce initiatives, product development, environmental performance, community investment and sustainability-related activities.
The report was reviewed and approved by its senior executives, Sustainability Council and Board of Directors. The performance data was validated internally and, where applicable, reported to regulatory authorities in accordance with their requirements.
