Unibuss has ordered 76 electric Lion’s City E buses from MAN Truck & Bus to operate in the east of Oslo, Norway.

This is MAN’s first electric bus order from Norway.

The manufacturer will supply 59 solo and 17 articulated electric buses to the capital, with delivery scheduled for the end of 2023.

MAN Norway
76 Lion’s City E will be used in the north-east and east of Oslo
Ruter AS, the local public transport authority that will operate the buses in Oslo, said:

Oslo is to become the world's first emission-free city by 2030. With emission-free public transport already by the end of 2023, an important part of the job is done. New electric buses in Oslo East mean cleaner local air, less noise, better comfort and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

The buses will be equipped with a new CO2 air conditioning system that delivers greater efficiency and range, providing an extra 25 kilometres on each charge.

In addition, the vehicles offer greater safety thanks to systems such as the MAN BirdView, which provides a 360° view of the vehicle’s immediate surroundings, and the MAN OptiView mirror replacement, which eliminates the blind spot and improves visibility at night.

MAN will also provide service and maintenance for the city buses for a period of up to 12 years.
