The Škoda Group has been awarded a contract to supply the Pilsen City Transport Company with an additional 34 modern trolleybuses, following on from a framework agreement from 2022.
This latest partial purchase agreement will see the company deliver 19 partial Škoda 26Tr trolleybuses and 15 articulated Škoda 27Tr trolleybuses for use in Pilsen, modernising the fleet of the second largest trolleybus operation in the Czech Republic.

Set to be completed across two stages, deliveries will commence with the supply of 10 Škoda 26Tr trolleybuses and 4 articulated Škoda 27Tr trolleybuses by the end of November 2027, with the remaining 9 Škoda 26Tr vehicles and 11 Škoda 27Tr vehicles expected to be handed over by 31 August 2028.
The total value of the order is expected to reach almost 624 million CZK, with all units set to utilise a Solaris body and be equipped with traction batteries for driving off the catenary, allowing for a range of at least 16km (Škoda 26Tr vehicles) and at least 13km (Škoda 27Tr articulated vehicles).
Karel Majer, Executive Director of the Bus Mobility Division at Škoda Group, said:Pilsen is one of the cities with the longest and strongest tradition of trolleybus transport in the Czech Republic. We greatly appreciate the fact that in our home city, passengers can use only Škoda trolleybuses.
The new delivery will continue the long-term cooperation with the Pilsen City Transport Enterprises and will bring additional modern, comfortable and ecological vehicles for everyday city transport.
We are pleased that PMDP has managed to fulfil the framework contract in its entirety.
Each vehicle will be equipped with full air-conditioning capabilities, as well as modern information, check-in and camera systems
First launched in 1941, the Pilsen trolleybus operation has grown to become the second largest in the Czech Republic after Brno, with the city now possessing a total of 111 trolleybuses, all of which have been produced by Škoda.
Currently, the local fleet consists of 4 Škoda 24Tr vehicles, 5 Škoda 25Tr vehicles, 70 Škoda 26Tr vehicles and 32 Škoda 27Tr articulated vehicles.
