With the World Cup now underway; Yutong has announced that 800 of its new energy buses have been deployed in order to provide transport for the large influx of football fans visiting host cities across Mexico.

More than 1,000 Yutong vehicles are already in operation across the three host cities (Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey), with Mexico City alone possessing more than 700 electric buses – all of which are in current service across the city.

From 11 June to 19 July 2026; multiple Yutong buses will be employed to provide mobility support across different scenarios throughout Mexican host cities.

The E9 and E12PRO electric buses will be used to help serve urban transport networks, whilst 12-metre and 18-metre dual-source trolleybuses will connect metro systems, BRT networks, and commuter routes.

Within BRT systems; 18-metre articulated buses and 26-metre bi-articulated electric buses will support high-capacity and efficient public transportation needs.

In order to ensure stable vehicle operation, Yutong has established a 35-member support team with cross-border, cross-regional and interdisciplinary expertise.

This team will work in 24-hour shifts and conduct two routine inspections on vehicles every day – covering over 100 test items, delivering full-cycle support and rapid response for local transportation services.

This year marks the third consecutive time Yutong has delivered travel support for local residents during major international football events.
