FlixBus has announced a continued expansion of its footprint on Australia’s East Coast with the launch of a brand-new line connecting Western Sydney International Airport (Nancy-Bird Walton) and Canberra.
The new line, which is set to commence operation on 25 October, will see the introduction of two departures in each direction seven days a week.

Serving four stops (Parramatta, WSI Airport, Goulburn and Canberra), the route will launch the same day that the airport opens to its first passengers, placing FlixBus at the forefront of Sydney’s newest aviation gateway.
The service will aim to provide a direct connection between Parramatta, WSI Airport and Canberra, avoiding detours through Sydney’s Central CBD, with an added stop in Goulburn serving the regional community between the airport and the capital.
An initial timetable will see coaches depart from Parramatta at 11:15 and 22:45, arriving at WSI Airport approximately 40 minutes later, whilst departures from Canberra’s Jolimont Tourist Centre will run at 06:00 and 16:45, arriving at WSI Airport roughly three hours later.
Frequency adjustments are anticipated to be made following consistent monitoring as more airlines begin operating at WSL.
The service will be operated by FlixBus’s existing coach operator partner, Deanes Coaches Group, and fares will start at 21.99 AUD between WSI Airport and Parramatta, 29.99 AUD between WSI Airport and Canberra, and 32.99 AUD between Canberra and Parramatta.
Yvan Lefranc-Morin, Senior Managing Director, FlixBus Australia said:We're proud to be one of the first mobility providers to connect Western Sydney International Airport, Parramatta, Goulburn and Canberra with a single direct service. This line delivers real benefits for passengers: a convenient direct link, affordable fares, and time saved by travelling direct to their destination rather than routing through central Sydney.
It also strengthens the links between Western Sydney, regional NSW and the capital, supporting the way people and businesses move between them. We'll be monitoring demand closely and will adjust the frequency as needed, especially as more airlines start operating. Launching this line reflects our commitment to the Australian market as we keep exploring ways to reach more Australians on the East Coast with sustainable, affordable and convenient travel.
We're expanding our partnership with Deanes Coaches Group, one of our first bus partners in Australia and the operator of our Sydney-Canberra line, to bring this service to travellers. Our partnership has gone from strength to strength, with Deanes growing alongside us from our first line to this new route. We're confident their proven local expertise and track record will deliver a reliable, high-quality experience for passengers.
