Daimler Buses has established a new wholly-owned subsidiary: Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH, which will specialise in infrastructure for electric buses.
The new subsidiary aims to help electric buses achieve their full performance potential by integrating vehicles into a co-ordinated system. It will thus work alongside partners to deliver an entire e‑infrastructure system to customers across Europe.
As announced at UITP Global Public Transportation Summit in Barcelona, former head of e‑systems at Daimler Buses, Dietrich Müller will take over as managing director at Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH.

Our customers not only require electric buses, but also complete solutions for operating e-fleets. With Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH, our desire is to further expand the business area and provide the unit with maximum entrepreneurial freedom within a dynamic market environment.
Through this new subsidiary, Daimler Buses will offer customers a complete solution for operating electric buses, from custom-configured vehicles to depot e-infrastructure. This will include construction measures, electrical installations, chargers, battery storage facilities, charging management systems and other digital services.
In the future, its portfolio will also be expanded to include the required infrastructure for buses with hydrogen-based fuel cell drives or range extenders.
