Czech Republic: Škoda to Supply 27Tr Trolleybuses to Ústí nad Labem

Škoda Group has been selected to supply up to 33 Škoda 27Tr trolleybuses to the city of Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic.

This contract is valued at over 650 million CZK (27 million EUR) and will see the vehicles delivered from the beginning of next year.

Ústí Trolleybuses
The new trolleybuses are based on the well-known Škoda 27Tr model

The new trolleybuses will have two traction motors and two drive axles to enable smooth journeys in the hilly Ústí region. They will also be equipped with a battery to power the vehicles on roads without overhead lines.

Simona Mohacsi, Executive Director of the Transport Company of the City of Ústí nad Labem said:

“These are three-axle, four-door, low-floor articulated two-link trolleybuses, designed for urban public transport, with a capacity of 115 people. Passengers will certainly appreciate the full-car automatic air conditioning, USB chargers and brushed stainless steel handles. Also worth mentioning are the elements that contribute to traffic safety, such as tyre pressure monitoring, pedestrian collision monitoring, blind spot monitoring, an electrically heated windshield and many others.

“Ústí nad Labem is specific with its rugged terrain, therefore the trolleybuses will have two drive axles with a total output of 250kW, which will be beneficial especially in the winter. The price of one delivered trolleybus is CZK 20,350,000 without VAT.”

The new trolleybuses will be equipped with air conditioning in the passenger compartment and in the driver’s cabin. They will also feature a modern information system for passenger convenience.
