Volvo Buses has been contracted to supply 47 battery-electric buses to Bergkvara for operation in Skåne, Sweden.

With more than 1,350 buses already in operation; Volvo Buses will supply Bergkvara with an additional set of 47 of its 8900 Electric model vehicles in 4×2 and 6×2 configurations.

These new buses will enter operation serving intercity commuters in Skåne, as well as the city of Trelleborg.

Martin Spjern, Country Manager Sweden at Volvo Buses, said:

We are truly happy about the confidence from Bergkvara, a major operator with strict requirements on product reliability as well as total cost of ownership.

The new vehicles, which are set to begin service by the end of 2027, will implement either 5 or 6 cube battery units, depending on the model.
