A new TaithCymru coach service connecting North and South West Wales will launch on Sunday 25 October, offering 10 daily services between Bangor and Carmarthen, as well as a late-night extension to Holyhead.
TaithCymru will serve Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, linking towns with railway stations and other public transport services. The service will reduce journey times between destinations by more than an hour.

The timetable will operate daily, with 10 regular services from Monday to Saturday and a similar schedule on Sundays. A limited timetable will apply on launch day.
One daily journey will extend to Holyhead railway station and port, providing connections with rail and ferry services.
The Deputy Minister for Transport, Mark Hooper said:TaithCymru is a significant step forward in connecting communities across the North and South West of Wales. From this Sunday, people will be able to travel between Bangor and Carmarthen more quickly and easily than ever before, with comfortable, modern coaches calling at key towns along the way.
This new service forms part of our wider ambition to build a more integrated public transport network across Wales, linking up bus and rail services, encouraging a shift away from car travel, and supporting our sustainable tourism and decarbonisation goals.
I'd encourage anyone travelling between the North and the South West of Wales to book their tickets now and try out this brand new service.
Introductory adult fares start at 4 GBP for shorter journeys, rising to 10 GBP for travel between Bangor and Carmarthen. A ticket for the full route, including Holyhead, costs 12.50 GBP. The Bangor–Carmarthen fare is scheduled to increase to 14 GBP in January 2027.
All journeys must be booked online or by telephone at least 15 minutes before departure. Passengers will also be able to track coaches in real time through the TrawsCymru app.

The new coaches feature Wi-Fi, reclining seats, air conditioning, toilets and cycle storage. Each coach has one wheelchair space, which can be reserved in advance.
Lee Robinson, Executive Director for Regional Transport and Integration at Transport for Wales, said:TaithCymru is an exciting new addition to Wales’ public transport network, providing a faster, more comfortable and affordable way to travel between communities across the North and the South West of Wales.
The service has been designed around the needs of passengers, with modern coaches, simple online booking and better links with rail, local bus and ferry services along the route.
By making it easier for people to leave the car at home, TaithCymru will open up access to jobs, education, services and visitor destinations, while supporting our ambition for a more joined-up and sustainable transport network across Wales.
The service is intended to improve connections between regional centres and existing bus and rail networks, including TrawsCymru, local bus services and Fflecsi. Passengers can find timetables, fares and booking information through the TaithCymru website.
