In 1980, when the automobile was practically the only horizon in terms of travel, elected officials and technicians convinced of the need to fundamentally change public transport policies decided to create the Group of authorities responsible for transport (GART). Made up of a team of elected officials and permanent staff to carry out its mission of general interest, the association acts in favour of the development of public transport and of alternative modes to the individual use of the car.

GART Expertise

A key expert in the major challenges of mobility. The GART is a resource center based on elected representatives of various political sensitivities and a team of technicians at the service of members. They thus benefit from a set of concrete and local services which allow them to optimize their role as the organizing authority for mobility.

Exchange of Experience

Place of exchange and best practices for our members. The association promotes innovation in terms of travel. It leads the debate and brings together the players in the sector to build the mobility of tomorrow.

Influence

Spokesperson for the authorities organising mobility at national and European level. GART defends their interests with State institutions and services, the European Union and the media.
