Maintenance & Servicing

In order to keep buses running smoothly throughout their lifespan, they need to be maintained and serviced correctly. This kind of maintenance can be regularly scheduled or it can occur if problems have arisen. With data playing a bigger and bigger role in transport, predictive maintenance has become the goal, where data is used to monitor the condition of assets in order to maintain them only when needed as this maximises fleet availability and keeps costs down.

    • Repowering

      Repowering

Repowering services are performed by companies that specialise in converting traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) buses to electric buses. This process typically involves removing the existing engine, transmission and other ICE components, and replacing them with an electric motor, battery pack and associated power electronics. Repowering services may also include other modifications to the bus, such as upgrading the suspension or braking systems to accommodate the additional weight of the battery pack. The goal of re-powering is to extend the useful life of existing buses while reducing their emissions and operating costs. This can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new electric buses, especially for fleets with large numbers of older buses that are still in good condition. Overall, repowering services are an important part of the transition to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly public transportation system.
